Reports on derived radiocarbon ages for the drawings in the Chauvet cave in Vallon-Pont d'Arc in Ardeche, France, which confirm that the drawings are of the Aurignacian period. Contradiction of the findings with existing theories on the origins of art; Description of the cave art studied and of the dating method used. |
