Abstract: The article presents the author's views regarding the need of an authority for coordination and accountability in crisis situations. He states that there is a need of better coordination and control during and after every major international disaster. He adds that the International Health Regulations Treaty has introduced a decision-instrument algorithm for the assessment and notifications of events constituting public health emergency or international concern.
