Abstract: The article focuses on the analysis on the search for belonging of adopted children. It relates the article of Adele Kaufman which presents the case of Ella, a four-year-old adopted child who exhibited desruptive and attacking behavior after her parents adopted another child. It states that the cognitive capacity of the child in understanding object permanence and separation should be considered when telling about the child's adoption.
