Abstract (English): During Latin Trade Week, the prospects of Latin American foreign trade were discussed. James Bacchus, former senator of the United States, expressed that Latin America should not wait to accept trade proposals from the United States, as Biden's trade policy continues that of Trump and there is not strong support for free trade in the United States. Ricardo Meléndez-Ortiz, Strategic Advisor of Latin Trade, pointed out that Latin America is losing relevance in global export markets and has shown an annual decrease in the value of its exports since 2017. Additionally, Latin America has a low participation in global value chains. International trade and intra-regional investment flows are key factors for the future growth of Latin America. [Extracted from the article]
