Abstract (English): The report of the Study Committee on the Aging Process in Spain presents a series of recommendations to guarantee the rights of older people and combat ageism. Among the recommendations are redesigning public policies aimed at older people, supporting the creation of a Convention on the Rights of Older Persons, promoting a new culture of aging, and conducting awareness campaigns about the rights of older people. Topics such as unwanted loneliness, gender equality, the sustainability of the pension system, care and support for older people, and the adaptation of the labor market are also addressed. Measures are proposed to improve housing resources, promote personal autonomy and active aging, and foster a more inclusive and accessible society for older people. [Extracted from the article]
Abstract (Spanish): El informe de la Ponencia de Estudio sobre el Proceso de Envejecimiento en España presenta una serie de recomendaciones para garantizar los derechos de las personas mayores y combatir el edadismo. Entre las recomendaciones se encuentran rediseñar las políticas públicas dirigidas a las personas mayores, apoyar la creación de una Convención sobre los Derechos de las Personas Mayores, promover una nueva cultura del envejecimiento y realizar campañas de concienciación sobre los derechos de las personas mayores. También se abordan temas como la soledad no deseada, la igualdad de género, la sostenibilidad del sistema de pensiones, los cuidados y apoyos a las personas mayores, y la adaptación del mercado laboral. Se proponen medidas para mejorar los recursos de vivienda, promover la autonomía personal y el envejecimiento activo, y fomentar una sociedad más inclusiva y accesible para las personas mayores.
