Abstract (English): We aim to recover Elba Fábregas' trajectory to characterize her way of making puppets, understand the vicissitudes of women puppeteers in Buenos Aires city during the second half of the 20th century. We will reflect on the presence of women in the world of puppets and then characterizing Fábregas' work as a visual artist. Finally, we will reconstruct her puppet shows, emphasizing the heterogeneity and the place her body occupied on stage. We start from the hypothesis that the staging of her own body organized and gave sense to the multiplicity of objects used and allowed her to establish a direct relation with the public while collaborating in dismantling the relationship between female work and private sphere as well as multiplying the images associated with puppetry.
