| Abstract (English): | This article seeks to explore the imprint of Latin America on the work and thought of Michel de Certeau. From the first encounter, in 1966, a series of subsequent meetings and journeys began to unfold, progressively reconfiguring his conceptual categories and his understanding of the writing of history. The geographical displacement from France to Latin America became, for De Certeau, an epistemological displacement. In Latin America--or rather, in the interstitial space between the Americas and France--he did not simply find a field of study or a new perspective, but a privileged point of view: a hermeneutical locus from which to rethink the writing of history, the particularity of theology, and modern subjectivity. What unsettling questions did De Certeau bring back from Latin America to the context of the human sciences and theology in France? To what extent did his view of revolution in Latin America shape his understanding of the May '68 revolution? And how did De Certeau conceive the "discovery of America" as an event that reconfigures the writing of modern history? These are some of the questions I will seek to address in this contribution. | Abstract (Spanish): | Este artículo busca explorar la huella de América Latina en la obra y el pensamiento de Michel de Certeau. A partir de su primer encuentro con el continente, en 1966, se comienza a empalmar una serie de otros encuentros y viajes, que van a ir reconfigurando sus propias categorías conceptuales y su comprensión de la escritura de la historia. El desplazamiento geográfico de Francia a América Latina se transformó, para De Certeau, en un desplazamiento epistemológico. En América Latina o más bien en el espacio intersticial entre las Américas y Francia no encontró simplemente un campo de estudio, una óptica, sino un punto de vista privilegiado: un lugar hermenéutico desde el cual repensar la escritura de la historia, la particularidad de la teología y la subjetividad moderna. ¿Qué preguntas inquietantes se lleva De Certeau de América Latina al contexto de las ciencias humanas y de la teología en Francia? ¿En qué medida su mirada sobre la revolución en América Latina impacta su mirada sobre la revolución de mayo del 68? ¿De qué manera sitúa De Certeau el "descubrimiento de América" como un elemento que reconfigura la escritura de la historia moderna? | Abstract (Portuguese): | Este artigo busca explorar a marca da América Latina na obra e no pensamento de Michel de Certeau. A partir de seu primeiro encontro com o continente, em 1966, começa a se encadear uma série de outros encontros e viagens que vão reconfigurando suas próprias categorias conceituais e sua compreensão da escrita da história. O deslocamento geográfico da França para a América Latina transformou-se, para De Certeau, em um deslocamento epistemológico. Na América Latina, ou melhor, no espaço intersticial entre as Américas e a França, ele não encontrou simplesmente um campo de estudo, uma ótica, mas sim um ponto de vista privilegiado: um lugar hermenêutico a partir do qual repensar a escrita da história, a particularidade da teologia e a subjetividade moderna. Que preguntas inquietantes De Certeau leva da América Latina para o contexto das ciências humanas e da teologia na França? Em que medida seu olhar sobre a revolução na América Latina impacta seu olhar sobre a revolução de maio de 68?
