Abstract (English): This article argues that Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development (PCSD) can only be a relevant approach to the transformations envisioned by the 2030 Agenda if its political dimension is explicitly addressed. This implies recognizing that decisions aimed at sustainable development are fraught with conflicts of interest among actors with varying degrees of influence and with disputes over the very foundations of the concept of development. Without considering these elements, coherence risks being reduced to a technical exercise in coordination that, far from promoting structural changes, reproduces the dynamics that limit the necessary transformations. The Coherence Index (INDICO) is presented as a tool that allows for the empirical visualization of this political dimension of PCSD. By revealing the unsustainability of the hegemonic development model, INDICO demonstrates that PCSD requires taking risks and making complex political choices that go beyond simple dialogue or coordination.
