Abstract (English):	The article focuses on the ethics of care from a Christian perspective in the context of an aging society and the discussion in Chile about the law on medically assisted death. It analyzes the value of care towards elderly adults and patients with functional dependency, highlighting that care is both a practice and a fundamental value for human dignity, not merely a duty. The ethics of care, developed by authors such as Carol Gilligan and Nel Noddings, emphasizes relational and interdependent responsibility among people, while the Christian perspective grounds it in providence and charity, exemplified in the parable of the Good Samaritan and figures like Saint Joseph. Finally, it is proposed that palliative care is an ethical and compassionate alternative to euthanasia, promoting comprehensive accompaniment and respect for life until its natural end, and it underscores the need for public policies that support caregivers in an aging society. Abstract (Spanish):	El artículo se centra en la ética del cuidado desde una perspectiva cristiana en el contexto de una sociedad envejecida y la discusión en Chile sobre la ley de muerte médicamente asistida. Se analiza el valor del cuidado hacia adultos mayores y enfermos con dependencia funcional, destacando que el cuidado es una práctica y un valor fundamental para la dignidad humana, no solo un deber. La ética del cuidado, desarrollada por autoras como Carol Gilligan y Nel Noddings, enfatiza la responsabilidad relacional e interdependiente entre las personas, mientras que la perspectiva cristiana la fundamenta en la providencia y la caridad, ejemplificada en la parábola del Buen Samaritano y en figuras como San José. Finalmente, se propone que los cuidados paliativos son una alternativa ética y compasiva a la eutanasia, promoviendo el acompañamiento integral y el respeto por la vida hasta su fin natural, y se subraya la necesidad de políticas públicas que apoyen a los cuidadores en una sociedad que envejece.
