The article focuses on the serious risk faced by religious freedom worldwide, as evidenced in the 2025 World Religious Freedom Report, prepared by the pontifical foundation Aid to the Church in Need (ACN). According to the report, nearly two-thirds of the global population live in countries with severe violations of this right, with authoritarianism being the main driver of repression, with examples in countries such as China, Nicaragua, and India. Additionally, the critical situation of Christian communities in Syria is highlighted, where war and religious persecution have drastically reduced their presence and caused profound suffering, although they maintain hope and pastoral commitment. The report emphasizes that religious freedom is fundamental to peace, justice, and human dignity, and its deterioration also affects other fundamental rights. [Extracted from the article] |

El artículo se centra en el grave riesgo que enfrenta la libertad religiosa a nivel mundial, evidenciado en el Informe de Libertad Religiosa en el Mundo 2025, elaborado por la fundación pontificia Ayuda a la Iglesia que Sufre (ACN). Según el informe, casi dos tercios de la población mundial viven en países con violaciones severas a este derecho, siendo el autoritarismo el principal motor de la represión, con ejemplos en países como China, Nicaragua e India. Además, se destaca la situación crítica de comunidades cristianas en Siria, donde la guerra y la persecución religiosa han reducido drásticamente su presencia y generado un sufrimiento profundo, aunque mantienen la esperanza y el compromiso pastoral.
