| Abstract (English): | This text reviews recent works by photographer Elsa Medina and the emancipatory aspects they contain regarding the complexities of this artist’s life story. This study is conducted by placing these productions in dialogue with criteria about everyday life and practices developed by Michel de Certeau and specialists who have studied her work or who engage in underlying communication with her approaches. First, a summary of Elsa Medina’s photojournalistic background is presented. It then reviews works from recent projects: Casita del árbol (2022), Viaje Mítico (2021), Mamá (2000-2010), and Mulegé. Journey through the Labyrinths of Memory (2015-2017), and how they activate notions of home, critical journalism, the balance between strategies and tactics, and fictional identity narratives. | Abstract (Spanish): | El texto revisa obras recientes de la fotógrafa Elsa Medina y rasgos emancipatorios que contienen respecto a complejidades de la historia de vida de esta artista. Este estudio pone a dialogar algunas de sus producciones con criterios sobre cotidianidad y prácticas desarrollados por Michel de Certeau y especialistas que han estudiado su obra o que se comunican de maneras subyacentes con sus planteamientos. Primero se hace un sumario de los antecedentes fotoperiodísticos de Elsa Medina. Después se revisan obras dentro de proyectos recientes: Casita del árbol (2022), Viaje Mítico (2021), Mamá (2000-2010) y Mulegé. Travesía por los laberintos de la memoria (2015-2017), y cómo activan nociones de hogar, periodismo crítico, balanceos entre estrategias y tácticas y narrativas ficcionales identitarias. | Abstract (Portuguese): | Este texto analisa obras recentes por Elsa Medina, fotógrafa e os aspectos emancipatórios que elas contêm em relação à complexidade da trajetória de vida desta artista. O estudo dialoga com critérios sobre o cotidiano e as práticas desenvolvidos por Michel de Certeau e especialistas que estudaram sua obra ou que comunicam de forma subjacente com suas abordagens. Primeiramente, apresenta-se um resumo da trajetória fotojornalística de Elsa Medina. Em seguida, analisam-se obras de projetos recentes: Casita del árbol (2022), Viaje Mítico (2021), Mamá (2000-2010) e Mulegé. Viagem pelos Labirintos da Memória (2015-2017), e como elas ativam noções de lar, jornalismo crítico, equilíbrio entre estratégias e táticas e narrativas identitárias ficcionais.
