| Abstract (English): | This qualitative study investigated narratives concerning the term "environmental racism" on digital journalism portals in Brazil during the first half of 2024. The 36 news articles identified were categorized into three main axes: I) Events as news and evidence of environmental racism; II) Activism and social movements linked to environmental racism; and III) Debate and controversies over the term environmental racism. The primary analysis focused on eight articles related to the third axis, revealing significant editorial variations. While traditional outlets adopted a factual approach, others offered a more critical view, highlighting the role of the media in the construction of meaning, the polarization of contemporary debates, and the need for journalistic practice committed to social and environmental justice.
