| Abstract (English): | This study focuses on analyzing the relationship between communication and the political culture of audiences in Latin America and Mexico, with a particular focus on the process of polarization in the media sphere and the alleged politicization of audiences following the rise of social media and digital platforms. Thus, the research examines some of the factors that have fostered this situation and explores key aspects such as the political culture of Latin American societies--and, in particular, Mexican society--as well as media consumption habits and the complex relationships between the media and political power. To this end, empirical data and theoretical approaches are used as references, leading to useful explanations that provide a better understanding of the subject of study. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
