Abstract (English): The article reports a discourse delivered by Pope Leo XIV before the Spanish Parliament in Madrid on June 8, 2026, during an apostolic visit. The pontiff emphasizes that every just society must be founded on the recognition of the inviolable dignity of the human person, which precedes any social consensus and must guide all legal order. He addresses central themes such as the defense of life from conception until natural death, the importance of the family as the first school of humanity, and the necessity of protecting migrants and refugees through legal and safe pathways. The Pope also underscores the importance of international peace based on dialogue and international law, warning against rearmament and war, and highlights the need for a culture of reciprocity and mutual respect within democratic societies. Finally, he invokes Spain's rich historical and spiritual heritage, particularly the Salamanca tradition that united historical action with moral reflection, as a model for building peaceful and just coexistence that respects both freedom of conscience and religion as well as the common good.
