The article discusses the Mexican soap opera "Amor en custodia" and the romantic triangles presented in the program. An analysis of the character narrative within the genre is also presented, which focuses on the emphasis on action and passion rather than the spoken word. It also focuses on the complicity between actors and the public, as well as the cultural differences between the two. In "Amor en custodia," the idea that love conquers all is ever present in the storyline. Contact between two socially distinct worlds thus is shown to have drastic effects on daily life as they are affected by the catalyst of love and other sentimental relationships. |
