Abstract (English): Suicide is undoubtedly a fact of great interest to mass media because of its social impact. However, there is great concern among the academic community and the critical mass about how this type of news are presented, the language used and the stylistic management of the fact, especially if we realize that teenagers and young people are vulnerable to this phenomenon, and even worse, when mass media ignore the suggestions made by different World organizations as the World Health Organization (Organización Mundial de la Salud, OMS). Based on that perception, the research group COMDEHUILA, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, sectional Neiva, became interested on researching and deepening on the responsibility of the printed media on the journalistic management of this issue in Huila, which is the first step for a large debate at a national level.
